The Personal MBA

When I set my personal goals for 2004 I decided one of them was to start graduate school. The logical way into that, for me, was to find and enter an executive MBA program, but before I could start the MBA I had to take the GMAT. So since mid-January I've been taking weekly GMAT prep courses to get ready. The reaction this gets from friends, colleagues, and co-workers has been decidedly mixed, with several of them clearly thinking the pursuit a waste of time.

Pursuing higher education is the sort of thing that one need not justify to others, but still I think it's worth explaining here so the next time someone launches into all the reasons I don't need an MBA I can just point them here.  [More...]

Home

Welcome to your new Conversant site!

This is the About page of the terryfrazier site. It is the page that users will see when they click on the About link. Conversant is very easy to use: pages are just discussion group messages, and can be easily changed by editing them right in your browser.

You should think of this page as temporary. The current text is only here for your convenience, you are expected to replace it with anything you want it to say.

To edit your About page, first make sure you're logged in (you know you're logged in when you see your name in the "Members" box). If not, go to your site's Logon page. Use the password you chose in the site creation wizard, and the same e-mail address that you used to sign up.

Then, at the bottom of the About page, you'll see a button labeled "Edit". Clicking on it will bring you to the DG message for that page, in edition mode. When you're done editing the text, just click the "Submit Changes" button, and then click on the "About" link to go back to the About page and see the changes. (You may need to refresh or reload to see the changes when you go back to the About page.)

The Navigation Bar

The navigation to the left is really just another message. Again, make sure you're logged on; then edit the message by clicking on the word "Navigation" at the top of the navbar. Don't worry, only you (or other site admins that you designate) can change anything on your site!

Important links:

  • Your site's management tools are here. You'll need to logon again (in a username/password dialog box), using the same e-mail address and password as you did before (the password you chose in the site creation wizard).
  • The support site is where you go for advice and help with your new site.
  • Conversant's features are documented on the support site. The documentation is always growing. If you don't find an answer to your question, send us an email and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible (usually within a couple hours).
